Strengthen Your Blog In A Single S.w.o.t.
Is there anything that could be improved on the blog your
run? Do you even know if there is something that needs to
be improved? Try taking the MBA stance by performing a
S.W.O.T on the blog to get to what really needs adjustment?
Now what the heck is S.W.O.T you say? All it is, is an
acronym for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats. Just about every Fortune 500 company you can think
of performs this self check to see where they stand so why
shouldn’t you?
Commence the analysis by reading through your blog from top
to bottom citing everything that works in your favor. Have
your products been moving quickly? Have the blog entries
been getting better each time you post? Are you receiving a
satisfactory page rank from Google? After all is said and
done, you should be feeling pretty good about what has been
going on so far. If not then you may have some problems
that can be adjusted as we move into the next phase of the
S.W.O.T.
The next piece may be a little painful at first however, it
will help you strengthen your weakest links. Where are your
weaknesses? Are you posting infrequently? Are you producing
enough products? Is your article writing campaign building
back links? Each weakness recorded is also a chance to
enhance your current business plan so be certain to be as
thorough as possible.
On to opportunities, you may notice that many of your
businesses weaknesses can be transformed into
opportunities. In addition, take the time to look outside
the box on this one. Can you expand the realm of your
products? Can you shift from offering products to services?
Are you missing out on reaping a profit by marketing to a
small niche of people? Are there other forms of marketing
you can implement? The more questions you ask yourself the
more opportunities may arise.
The final portion is reviewing all possible threats. Is
your blog lost in a sea of similar blogs? Is your email
list becoming fatigued? Is the market you have selected
becoming less profitable? Have you been having server
problems that cost your site valuable time? Do you have
back up plans when things go wrong? Consider every threat a
hurdle that can be jumped to strengthen your business
model. The more frequent you run this analysis the more
profitable your blog will become. Get started now!
