Monetizing Your Blog - Part 1 Blog Content
Over the next week or so I will begin a mini series of articles on Content of Blogs, visitors and final part will be monetizing that blog. Put together they will hopefully help the newbie or even the seasoned blogger to improving there blog and maybe even earn a little money from it.
Part 1- Blog Content
I have been doing my blog for around 6 months now, starting with my blogspot site and have now graduated to my own domain, originally I started very narrow minded believing just by writing about autosurf programs and the odd other article I would earn a good passive income, but as I have found out its more than that.
I have collected the things I have learned along my journey and how this will help the new and old bloggers to improve there own website. I will confess that not all this is original but with my twist added to it.
CONTENT IS KEY.
The blog must have quality it’s that simple, if not people will never come back. The blog will need to have content and information of use and best to be original content written by you. When writing by yourself, don’t be afraid to be controversial and let your readers know who you are. Tell them a little about yourself and don’t be an anonymous person. Always be genuine and be upfront….
Blog content, will build over time and normally for the first few months you are finding you way.
Two things we should do as bloggers:
(i) Where possible refer to your previous posts with links when ever you have a chance. The idea is when visits arrive to your blog, we want them to stay and read other articles and not just your last visible post, the longer they stay the more chance of them finding a money making opportunity within your site. Money making will be covered more later in the series as quality of blog right now is KEY
(ii) Make a list of links to what you feel is your key posts at your side bar, I know at the start your posts may not be the best but over time the improvement will appear. Keep it up to date and amend when necessary. The idea is it will retain visitors as people spot a good title in you side bar they will click on it and they will stay on your site for a few minutes more. As the longer the visitor stays at your site the better the chance of earning money.
I’ll will look at getting more visitors later in the series but four of your main objectives should be:
(i) Write good, informative posts to the best of your ability.
Try to analyze and read write you have wrote, look at it as you was the reader not the writer, would you come back to this site to again?
Make sure you have a good title for your post. Give this as much thought as you do to your post. Include ‘keywords’ within your title.
(ii) Attract as many quality visitors as possible.

(iii) Keep visitors on your blog for as long as possible (by providing useful information).
(iv) Make it easy for visitors to return to your blog.
The easiest way is a form of subscription service; currently I am using feedburner as it’s free and quite good.
My final thought for all this is it takes time and patients and a lot of trial and error to make that prefect post and of course blog, just be patient it will come….
