Deer Hunting Tips - A Few Tips For Hunting
While deer hunting can be fun, it can also be one heck of a sport to master. There are some things that you MUST do and there are also things that you must avoid doing. Here are a few tips to help you become a more successful hunter.
The first thing you should check before going hunting is if you have everything you need. This includes the right clothes (if your in a treestand try to blend in with the tree), extra clips of ammo, your gun (of course), and what ever else you may need to bring with you.
If you are hunting in an area you have never hunted before than it would be wise to scope out the area before hunting. You want to look for deer tracks to determine where the deer are coming out (if you find any at all). The next thing you check for are antler markings on trees. If you are a treestand user than it would be wise to set up where ever the most activity is as far as deer trackings and antler markings.
If you are hunting in a field then make sure when you set up your treestand that the whole area is visible. I have set up many treestands before and I can say that I have missed out on plenty of deer just because they were right around the corner.
I have asked many people if they think that still hunting is better than scouting and most of them told me that it is, in fact, better. Here are reason why this is true:
1. It is easier not to be seen while still hunting.
2. It is easier to hear while still hunting because your not dragging your feet on the ground.
3. Deer have very sensitive hearing, they can here you walking way before you even spot them.
There are other reasons to support still hunting but these are the main ones.
Another good thing to do is find a professional deer hunter and gather information from them. Record and use the steps that they took to become an expert.
