How Can A Think Tank Be A Scam?
Running an online think tank is not easy there are all sorts of people who wish to join but are not qualified and there are always differences of opinion with regards to some of the most heated topics on the planet and no I’m not talking about global warming specifically although that is a heated debate no matter how you look at it. Rather am referring to religion and politics in such.
Not long ago there was a gentleman who wanted to join our think tank and he said he lost interest because he thought it was a scam. Of course he never made the effort to explain his credentials or tell us more about himself so we could either qualify him or disqualify him. Of course one’s chances of joining our think tank are only about 10% because we turn away most people. Indeed upon hearing this I said to him;
“Interesting your comments and suspicions of the Online Think Tank being a scam. It is work in progress and it is hard to choose which applicants have the mental capacity to handle it, as so many people who contact us are politically jaded and hateful, conspiracy theorists or just regurgitate what they see on TV. You would be shocked at the people who contact us. Who knows maybe they are just paranoid or work for the government? If you could read some of the emails we get you would be amazed.”
This is why you have to get to know the people to see if they have what it takes and increase their involvement in all that we do slowly, if they are worthy. How could it possibly be a scam? I don’t understand? How can people getting together and thinking about how to solve the world’s problems be a scam?
Giving information to the world is not a scam; we are not asking for anything, we are helping the world. The Think Tanks that I feel are a scam would be the one’s which take millions of dollars to do studies agreeing on the outcome in advance in trade for the money. Now that is a spit in the face on science, technology, environment, industry and the forward progression of mankind.
The Think Tank is a Think Tank of course. I do not understand the question? We think and solve problems. It is amazing the amount of mistrust out there and the number of people running around calling everything that they see a scam. Is there something in the water? Do I dare ask?
