Incorporate resistance training into your workout schedule if you want to lose weight. Resistance tor strength training is a great way to burn calories and build lean muscle mass. One pound of lean muscle mass burns up to 50 calories a day at rest. So it stands to reason the more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn daily and the more weight you will lose.
